Ethereum (ETH) Surges 30% in Best Weekly Performance Since May 2025 — $2,500 in Focus
Ethereum has experienced a sharp weekly surge exceeding 30%, marking its strongest weekly performance since May 2025 and driving prices toward the critical $2,500 psychological resistance level. The rally is being supported by massive institutional accumulation and robust spot ETF demand, with Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee revealing the purchase of 34,000 ETH. Lee highlighted that similar historic weekly chart patterns in July 2021 and May 2025 led to subsequent rallies of around 170%. Derivatives and on-chain metrics further underscore the bullish shift in market structure. Ethereum's perpetual futures funding rate on Binance reached a 12-month high of 0.01, while spot Ethereum ETFs in the United States recorded $1.06 billion in net inflows during August, led by BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust. In addition, large holders controlling between 10,000 and 100,000 ETH accumulated 182,000 ETH over the past week as the asset reclaimed its realized price benchmark of $2,306.
