Ethereum applications guild launches to boost App ecosystem
The Ethereum Applications Guild (EAG) launched April 30, 2026 as a global non-profit to accelerate Ethereum-native application development. It will fund activity through institutional membership fees scaled by size and by channeling portions of ETH staking yields (via partners such as HashKey Cloud) into developer grants and programs. EAG also unveiled a May–September 2026 Global Applications and Developers Program targeting Latin America, Africa, Oceania and India, with education, hackathons and roadshows. The initiative aims to sustain app-layer growth, bolster developer adoption (Ethereum added ~16,000 contributors in 2025) and create transparent staking-to-funding mechanisms (supporting 32–2,048 ETH node pools), which could increase staking demand and reinforce ETH’s ecosystem utility and long-term adoption prospects.
