(SpaceX) CEO Elon Musk announced that the company is offering a 50% discount on Starlink satellite internet services to residents living near its upcoming Starbase launch site in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. Under the initiative, the discount applies automatically to both new and existing customers across all residential service tiers, eliminating upfront hardware costs for new subscribers. With this promotion, Starlink's Residential 100 Mbps plan drops to $27.50 per month, the 200 Mbps plan decreases to $42.50 per month, and the top-tier Residential Max plan is reduced to $65 per month. The localized promotional pricing aligns with broader strategic moves at SpaceX as it builds out its infrastructure in Louisiana. Musk previously forecasted that the space exploration company could reach $3.5 trillion in annual revenue by 2033 following the operational rollout of the Starbase Louisiana facility, surpassing Morgan Stanley's projection timeline for the same milestone by seven years. Concurrently, SpaceX has sunset Falcon 9 Starlink launches from Cape Canaveral to transition future satellite deployment missions to its Starship rocket architecture.
