Eliminating NPT related to frac valves saves an operator an estimated USD 900,000 annually

This SLB case study says Cameron frac valves reduced recurring valve failures and eliminated onsite maintenance during hydraulic fracturing in the Permian Basin. By addressing grease loss, sand intrusion, and sealing-component damage, the valves improved pumping uptime and cut nonproductive time (NPT). In one quarter, the operator saved 1,234 minutes and gained 20.5 hours of additional pump time, worth about USD 110,000 in quarterly savings. The operator has now standardized the technology across both frac crews in its Permian operations. SLB says the reliability gains could translate into nearly seven extra days of pumping and roughly USD 900,000 in annual savings, highlighting a positive operational and cost-efficiency impact for the oilfield services business.
