DPRK Hackers Admit LayerZero Flaw in $292M KelpDAO Theft, ETH at $1,980
North Korea-linked attackers exploited LayerZero’s single-verifier setup to drain 116,500 rsETH ($292M) from KelpDAO on April 18. After six weeks of laundering via Wasabi and Tornado Cash, reports on June 1 showed $220M already cleaned, leaving just $1.7M traceable despite Arbitrum freezing $71M. On June 3, LayerZero raised verifier thresholds to 3-of-3 and Solv Protocol migrated over $700M away, while ETH traded near $1,980, down 5.5% in a week amid mounting bridge-security concerns.
