Dialectic plans SpaceX DeFi vault that lets holders borrow without selling
Investment firm Dialectic announced the upcoming launch of its Starloop yield vault on Base in September, enabling holders of tokenized SpaceX equity to generate yield through decentralized finance (DeFi). Under the mechanism, investors deposit tokenized SpaceX positions as collateral into the vault to borrow stablecoins, which are then deployed across high-yield on-chain strategies managed by Dialectic's Meccanico division on Makina's non-custodial infrastructure. Dialectic's investment thesis hinges on SpaceX's robust financial fundamentals following its public quarterly report, which revealed a 92% year-over-year revenue increase to $7.8 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $3.5 billion. Dialectic assigned a blended fair value of $286 per share to SpaceX, representing nearly double its closing price of $143.69 on August 31. The initiative comes amid broader efforts to bring real-world asset (RWA) collateral to blockchain ecosystems, following Coinbase's deployment of tokenized stocks on Base. However, market adoption faces structural hurdles, including low initial circulating liquidity, restrictions barring U.S. participants pending SEC regulatory exemptions, and legal complexities regarding direct share ownership versus special purpose vehicle claims.
