DAX, USD/JPY Forecast: Two trades to watch

Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and renewed U.S. tariff rhetoric have pressured the DAX, compounding weak German PMI data and raising concerns about Eurozone growth versus persistent inflation. Technically, the DAX has retraced from a 25,440 high toward a key rising trendline near 24,900; a break below could expose 24,650, 24,400 and the 200‑SMA at 24,170, while a recovery above 25,400 would target 25,500 and fresh record highs. USD/JPY has climbed to the 160 level as higher oil prices and stronger U.S. data (JOLTS) bolster the dollar and widen the U.S.–Japan rate gap, keeping intervention risk on Tokyo’s radar. Technicals show USD/JPY trading above its 50/200 SMAs with targets at 160.70 and 162.00; support sits around 158.90 (50 SMA), then 158.00–156.00 and the 200‑SMA (~155).
