DAX Futures Fall to 24,160 Ahead of Expected ECB Rate Hike

European equity futures turned mixed on June 11 as markets braced for the ECB’s widely expected 25-basis-point rate increase. The DAX slipped 80 points to 24,160, nearly 6% below its 2026 high, while CAC 40 and Euro Stoxx futures edged higher amid rising bond yields and US-Iran tensions. This follows Barclays’ June 10 assessment that the tightening cycle would not derail equities, citing stronger balance sheets and attractive valuations. Headline inflation at 3.2% and core at 2.5% in May, alongside German and French 10-year yields above 3%, now heighten downside risks if the ECB sounds more hawkish than anticipated.
