Data Breach at Trezor Leaks Info on Nearly 14,000 Bitcoin Wallet Users
Trezor disclosed that a breach at its third-party shipping partner, ShipMonk, exposed customer order data for 13,689 recent buyers of its Bitcoin hardware wallet. The leak included names, emails, phone numbers, physical shipping addresses, and in some cases cities only, affecting customers in the US, UK, Sweden, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, and Portugal. Trezor said its own systems and devices remain secure, but warned of heightened phishing and impersonation attempts using the stolen information. The incident underscores ongoing security risks around crypto custody services even when core wallet infrastructure is not compromised. While no direct loss of Bitcoin was reported, the breach may dent consumer trust in hardware wallet vendors in the short term and raise broader concerns about operational security across the crypto supply chain.
