Dallas Fed Survey Shows US Oil Output Climbed in Q3 Despite High Price Volatility
U.S. oil and gas production rose for a second consecutive quarter in Q3 2026 across Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, according to the Dallas Fed Energy Survey. Growth across the Permian, Eagle Ford, and Haynesville occurred despite intense market volatility fueled by Middle East tensions, which caused crude prices to swing from $67 in July to $107 in September, averaging $86 per barrel. Surveyed executives project WTI to finish 2026 at an average of $88 per barrel. Meanwhile, EIA data showed crude stockpiles rose by 900,000 barrels while distillate stocks fell 2.3 million barrels.
