CoinShares Unveils UCITS Platform, Expanding Access to Europe's €26.3 Trillion Regulated Fund Ecosystem
CoinShares announced a major expansion into Europe’s UCITS fund market with a new platform designed to launch regulated digital asset and thematic investment funds more efficiently. The inaugural product, the CoinShares Bitcoin Mining UCITS ETF, began trading on Deutsche Börse Xetra on July 21, 2026, after launching on July 16. The company says the platform should broaden its addressable market to large institutional allocators such as pension funds, insurers and private banks that can invest in UCITS-compliant vehicles. CoinShares emphasized that the upfront regulatory and capital investment is already complete, which should create operating leverage as additional funds are added over time. The move is strategically positive for CoinShares because it can generate recurring fee revenue, reduce reliance on any single product type, and scale future launches at lower marginal cost. For Bitcoin, the headline is supportive for institutional access, especially through a regulated mining-focused ETF wrapper.
