Coinbase Rolls Out Direct INR Rails in India as BTC Holds at $72,600
Coinbase has now activated direct INR deposit and withdrawal rails for Indian users via IMPS, completing the exchange’s local banking integration after its June 1 launch. The update adds native INR order books for spot and perpetual futures plus dedicated liquidity, removing P2P intermediaries and enabling real-time bank transfers. Following FIU-IND registration and a phased rollout that began yesterday, the platform also offers API and WebSocket connectivity for institutions. Bitcoin is currently trading near $72,600, down 6% over the past week, while Coinbase continues its $1 million investment in India’s builder community through Base.
