Circle's Wrapped Bitcoin Token cirBTC Surpasses 5,000 Issued Milestone

Circle's wrapped Bitcoin token, cirBTC, has surpassed 5,000 issued tokens, expanding rapidly from roughly 40 tokens in mid-August 2026. Circulating supply stands at 4,300.68 tokens across the Arc and Ethereum networks, backed 1:1 by 4,448.19 Bitcoin held in segregated institutional custody by Circle National Trust. The reserve provides an excess cushion of approximately 147.52 BTC, verified via Chainlink Proof of Reserve. The token's distribution includes 3,577.56 cirBTC on Arc and 723.11 on Ethereum, allowing institutional clients to access decentralized finance applications and collateralize borrowing using Circle Mint.
