Chinese Tech Giants Order Over $35 Billion in Nvidia Chips Amid Capacity Constraints

Nvidia faces severe supply constraints after ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent placed orders for more than 3 million RTX PRO 5500 graphics cards valued in excess of $35 billion. Priced at approximately $11,400 each, the export-compliant cards are in high demand for AI inference tasks. Total Chinese orders have surpassed 6 million units, doubling Nvidia's planned 2027 global production cap of roughly 3 million units. Consequently, Nvidia informed customers and partners that it cannot guarantee order fulfillment, warning some buyers they may receive only 5% to 10% of their requested quantities.
