Chinese robotics stocks rise as Tesla reportedly launches audit for Optimus
Shares of Chinese robotics and component manufacturers moved higher following local media reports that Tesla Inc has initiated a fresh round of production audits in Ningbo, China, for its Optimus humanoid robot. The audits mark a significant milestone in the electric vehicle maker's shift toward mass production, roughly five years after the Optimus concept was first introduced. According to reports, Tesla's robotics team is concentrating on establishing exclusivity and production consistency while migrating manufacturing capabilities from U.S. facilities to Chinese suppliers. The company aims to produce approximately 50,000 Optimus humanoid units in 2026 and has already started placing initial orders across supply chain partners. Key suppliers such as Shenzhen Inovance Tech, Zhejiang Sanhua Intelligent Controls, Ningbo Tuopu Group, and Ningbo Joyson Electronic saw gains between 1% and 3%. Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk continues to position Optimus as a core driver for the company's long-term pivot into artificial intelligence and robotics. The audit progress signals tangible momentum toward commercial scaling, bolstering investor confidence across both Tesla and its prospective supply chain partners.
