Chalom Says Ethereum May Host Most AI-Agent Financial Activity

SharpLink CEO Joseph Chalom projects that the Ethereum ecosystem is positioned to become the primary settlement layer for autonomous artificial intelligence agents as stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols expand. According to Chalom, AI agents will increasingly leverage blockchain infrastructure to automate complex financial operations, including lending tokenized assets, pledging collateral, evaluating cross-market yield opportunities, and optimizing tax implications. Adoption metrics already demonstrate notable traction, with hundreds of millions of dollars in stablecoin transactions between AI agents settling on networks such as Base and Solana, while over 10,000 agents registered under Ethereum's ERC-8004 identity standard in its first ten weeks. SharpLink's proprietary modeling indicates that AI agent automation could redistribute over $1 trillion in global financial services revenue annually by 2030, expanding to $4 trillion annually by 2035. Furthermore, this structural transition is estimated to compress global financial costs, generating user savings of approximately $350 billion annually by 2030 and $1.4 trillion by 2035—eliminating nearly 25% of worldwide financial fees. Strategic positioning around blockchain infrastructure is poised to dictate market leadership among major payment networks and crypto institutions.
