BWXT Completes Acquisition of Precision Components Group, Expanding U.S. Nuclear Manufacturing Capacity

BWX Technologies completed its acquisition of Precision Components Group, including Precision Custom Components and DC Fabricators, expanding its U.S. heavy-manufacturing capacity for nuclear components. The deal adds more than 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 450 employees, strengthening BWXT’s ability to serve commercial nuclear customers and U.S. Navy programs. Management said the acquisition should support reactor life-extension projects, new nuclear build activity, and broader energy reliability, while also helping meet rising demand for carbon-free power. The transaction is strategically positive for BWXT as it deepens vertical integration and increases domestic capacity, though execution and integration risks remain.
