Bitcoin held steady around $80,000 on May 15 amid institutional optimism boosted by CLARITY Act progress, with BTC ETFs posting $131.3M net inflows on May 14 despite $5.7M ETH outflows. This followed defensive $19.5M BTC and $21.5M ETH outflows to $31.4M USDT/$4.5M USDC on May 13 ahead of the May 14 vote, capping six weeks of $858M crypto ETP inflows ($706M to BTC products; YTD $4.9B). Institutions lifted BTC holdings +92,000 to 1.37M since February (trimming 127,000 ETH), tempered by MARA's $1.5B BTC sell-off and Exodus's 1,076 BTC dump, as exchange reserves fell to an 8-year low of 5.6%.
