Blitz Wallet’s May 26 update integrates BTC Map and Bitrefill plus a BTC-or-USD Lightning receive toggle, extending real-world payment options after Mixin’s May 21 rollout of node-free Lightning support and reusable addresses. The sequence began May 15 when Kenyan fintech Tando enabled Lightning BTC transfers to any phone number that auto-convert to KES in M-PESA accounts, targeting $4 billion in annual remittances and 30 million users. Together the launches show wallets and fintechs rapidly lowering friction for merchants and recipients across emerging markets.
