BlackRock Plans Reverse Share Split for Spot Ethereum ETF

BlackRock plans a one-for-three reverse share split for its iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA), with a record date of October 5 and the change taking effect at the market open on October 6. The split will reduce the share count while roughly tripling the per-share price, leaving investors’ total economic exposure, net asset value, and the fund’s ether holdings unchanged. The move is intended to improve secondary-market trading efficiency by narrowing bid-ask spreads and lowering trading friction, not to signal a change in outlook on ether. ETHA was trading near $14 and had fallen about 40% year to date, reflecting ether’s weakness. The fund remains the largest spot ether ETF with more than $5 billion in assets under management.
