Bitmine, Sharplink Back Ethlabs Ethereum Research Hub Launch

On June 22, 2026, Ethlabs launched as an independent nonprofit R&D lab to accelerate Ethereum’s institutional adoption. Founded by five former senior Ethereum Foundation researchers, the initiative is funded primarily by Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) and Sharplink (SBET), with additional backing from Joe Lubin and other ecosystem participants. The lab targets scaling, faster settlement, interoperability, security and protocol economics to prepare Ethereum for tokenized assets, stablecoins, AI commerce and DeFi. The announcement reinforces Ethereum’s role as a neutral settlement layer and signals deeper corporate commitment to an institutional supercycle.
