BitGo Launches Institutional Bitcoin Staking Powered by Stacks Integration

BitGo Bank & Trust has launched a native Bitcoin staking service for qualified custody institutional clients through an integration with the Stacks network. Staked assets remain timelocked directly on Layer 1 under BitGo's custody, eliminating the need to wrap, bridge, or lend holdings. The program targets an estimated 3% annual yield paid directly in Bitcoin, supported by Stacks miners via the Proof of Transfer consensus mechanism. Participation requires committing holdings for a six-month bond duration while locking Stacks tokens worth roughly 5% of the committed Bitcoin value.
