BitGo Expands Lightning Network Access for Institutional Bitcoin Payments

BitGo has rolled out Lightning Network support for its Crypto-as-a-Service platform via a Voltage partnership, enabling institutions to execute near-instant, low-cost Bitcoin payments through regulated custody and APIs. The move builds on its May 14 partnership with Moon Inc., which selected BitGo Singapore to power bitcoin-linked prepaid cards across Asia, with gift cards launching in Hong Kong this month. BitGo reported Q1 revenue surging 112.6% YoY to $3.77 billion, and the Lightning integration positions the firm to accelerate enterprise adoption by combining Layer-2 rails with its OCC-supervised bank charter amid favorable regulatory signals from Trump’s May 19 executive order.
