Bitcoin Stabilizes Near $63,900 as Warsh Fed Hawkishness Dominates

Bitcoin has settled around $63,900 after the Federal Reserve’s June 17 decision under new Chair Kevin Warsh triggered a sharp risk-off move. The central bank held rates at 3.50%-3.75% but removed forward guidance, lifted the year-end dot-plot median to 3.8%, and saw nine officials project at least one 2026 hike, sending BTC below $63,000 intraday. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $82 million in outflows and over $400 million in leveraged liquidations followed as markets repriced a 90% chance of a year-end rate hike. A subsequent Bank of Japan hike proved secondary to the tighter U.S. liquidity outlook, with Bitcoin holding its ground into June 20.
