Bitcoin Rebounds Above $80K Holding 50-Day MA as Gold Weakens

Bitcoin has rebounded above $80,000 by May 20 after consolidating below $77,000 on May 19 amid surging 30-year Treasury yields that hit 2007 highs. The pullback followed a sharp rally from March lows near $62,300 that carried BTC above $80,000 in early May on $2.7B ETF inflows and Senate Clarity Act progress. Hotter CPI at 3.8% YoY and PPI at 6.0% erased 2026 rate-cut bets, triggered $370M in liquidations, and shifted macro pressure onto risk assets. Despite the volatility, Bitcoin has shown relative strength versus gold as higher oil prices and yields weighed on XAUUSD. Traders now monitor the $77,700-$78,000 band for continuation or deeper correction toward $75,000.
