Bitcoin Faces Macroeconomic Pressure Below $82,000 Despite Substantial Whale Accumulation

Bitcoin traded below $82,000 after retreating over $3,000 from an $85,000 recovery attempt amid macroeconomic headwinds, including Brent crude rising above $100 per barrel. Despite price resistance, large investors continue accumulating BTC. On-chain data revealed 40 new wallets withdrew 9,458 BTC, valued at roughly $771.5 million, from Wintermute since October 1. Whales accumulated nearly 89,000 BTC over the past month, pushing large wallet balances above three million BTC, the highest aggregate level since November 2025. However, analysts caution that high energy costs threaten to constrain Federal Reserve easing and broader market liquidity.
