Bitcoin Exchange Reserves Fall to Multi-Year Low of 2.68 Million BTC

Bitcoin reserves on centralized exchanges have dropped to approximately 2.68 million BTC, reaching their lowest level since 2023, according to CryptoQuant data. The balance is down from early 2024 highs of roughly 3.2 million BTC. The contraction reflects ongoing withdrawals to institutional custody, private wallets, and corporate treasuries. In September, US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $2.65 billion in net inflows, while Strategy added 1,665 BTC for roughly $143 million to reach 847,666 BTC. Private investors added around 107,000 BTC in the third quarter as Bitcoin traded between $83,000 and $87,000.
