Bitcoin Drops Out of Top 10 as Market Cap Slips Below $1.5T at $72,400

On May 29 Bitcoin’s market capitalization fell below $1.5 trillion, pushing the cryptocurrency to 13th place among global assets and sending its price to around $72,400. The slide accelerated from roughly $76,000 on May 27 after an earlier drop from near $83,000 in early May. Capital has rotated into AI leaders such as TSMC and Broadcom, each near $2 trillion, and into precious metals that posted record gains earlier in 2026. A pending realized-price death cross adds to near-term downside risks.
