Bitcoin Circulating Supply Reaches 20.1 Million Coins as Issuance Growth Slows to 0.8%

Bitcoin's circulating supply has officially reached 20.1 million coins against its fixed 21 million limit, with cumulative issuance hitting 20,101,046.875 BTC at block 972,334. Over the past year, supply expanded by just 0.8% due to programmed halving events, leaving fewer than 900,000 BTC remaining to be mined before block subsidies cease around 2140. Previously, the network crossed 20 million BTC on March 9 at block 939,999. The current block subsidy stands at 3.125 BTC and will drop to 1.5625 BTC at block 1,050,000, expected in 2028.
