Binance Opens Access to 7,000 US Stocks, Prepares Tokenized 'bStocks' Rollout
Binance has opened access to more than 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs (zero-commission for non-U.S. customers) and plans to roll out “bStocks” — tokenized/synthetic versions of equities on its BNB blockchain. Trades will be facilitated via Nest Trading with Alpaca Securities custody, and purchases can be funded with digital assets including BNB. The move accelerates crypto platforms’ push into brokerage services and tokenized real-world assets (RWA), potentially shifting retail balances into crypto apps and increasing on-chain composability for lending and collateral. The rollout raises operational and regulatory risks (SEC recently delayed an innovation exemption), but could materially boost tokenized-stocks liquidity: daily tokenized trading volume reached $1.68bn (up 39% month-over-month) and holders rose 31%. Market impact: heightened competition for brokers and banks, faster RWA adoption if regulatory hurdles are managed, and potential new on-chain demand for equities as collateral in DeFi.
