Binance offers gold and silver options after commodity futures pull in billions in daily volume
Binance is expanding its crypto-native commodities offering by launching European-style options on gold and silver, settled in USDT and listed via its ADGM-regulated Nest Exchange. The move follows strong demand for Binance’s existing gold and silver perpetual futures, which reportedly reached peak daily volumes of $7.77 billion and $7.27 billion, respectively. The launch underscores rising trader appetite for traditional-asset exposure on crypto venues, especially as gold trades near record highs and attracts inflation-hedge flows. Retail users can buy calls and puts but cannot write options, limiting risk to the premium paid, while options writing is restricted to Binance and market makers. The product broadens Binance’s derivatives suite and may help deepen liquidity in tokenized access to metals, though the market impact is primarily on crypto exchange activity and commodity-linked trading demand rather than on the metals themselves.
