Binance Ether Open Interest Expands in ETH Terms Despite Dollar Value Slide

Ether futures open interest on Binance increased 2.27% in native token terms from 2,279,556 ETH to 2,331,355 ETH over a 69-hour period ending October 8, 2026. However, its total USDT value declined 6.58% from approximately 6.175 billion USDT to 5.768 billion USDT as the implied token valuation slid from 2,708 USDT to 2,474 USDT. Funding rates for the ETHUSDT perpetual contract moved from -0.003319% late on October 7 to positive territory at +0.002629% on October 8. Meanwhile, Bitcoin futures open interest fell in both BTC and USDT terms.
