Binance Resumes Crypto Withdrawals in Phases Following $6.3 Billion Hot-Wallet Hack

Binance has begun restoring customer withdrawals across 15 blockchain networks after replenishing roughly 95% of customer assets affected by a $6.3 billion hot-wallet breach. Bitcoin withdrawals reopened first on Sunday, followed by routes for Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and major stablecoins including USDT and USDC. Binance allocated over $6.34 billion from corporate treasury funds, its Futures Insurance Fund, and the Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) to ensure customers absorb no financial losses. The FBI attributed the October 29 cyberattack to North Korea-linked group TraderTraitor, while partner exchanges have frozen roughly $3 billion in stolen assets.
