Berkshire Hathaway Expands Alphabet Position to Make It Conglomerate's Third-Largest Holding
Alphabet has become Berkshire Hathaway's third-largest public equity holding, accounting for approximately 12.6% of its investment portfolio, following an 83% stake increase. Berkshire acquired more than 48 million shares across share classes during the second quarter. The accumulation follows Berkshire's initial stake purchase in late 2025 at around $200 per share while Alphabet traded below 17 times forward earnings. The expansion comes as Alphabet posted second-quarter FY26 revenue of $119.8 billion, driven by an 82% surge in Google Cloud sales to $24.77 billion, even as projected FY26 capital expenditures reached $175 billion to $185 billion.
