Berkshire Exits Amazon as Pershing Square Doubles Stake in AI Clash

On May 28, filings revealed diverging bets on Amazon by two prominent Buffett-inspired managers. Berkshire Hathaway under Greg Abel fully exited its small AMZN position and more than tripled its Alphabet stake to 54.2 million Class A shares. In contrast, Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square increased its Amazon holding to become the fund’s second-largest position while adding Microsoft. Analysts remain bullish with 49 of 57 rating AMZN a Strong Buy and a mean price target of $315.67, citing AWS’s $150 billion run-rate and $364 billion backlog, even as Amazon trades at a forward P/E near 34.
