Axie Infinity's Ronin Network to migrate to Ethereum next month, unlocking lower inflation and new builder rewards

Sky Mavis will migrate the Ronin blockchain to Ethereum on May 12, a move the team says will dramatically lower RON token inflation (from over 20% to under 1%), expand treasury inflows via staking, sequencer revenue and higher marketplace fees, and introduce a Proof of Distribution system to reward builders. The migration requires a hard fork (block #55577490) and roughly 10 hours of downtime for the network, with node operators required to upgrade beforehand. The upgrade is positioned as making Ronin more secure and incentive-aligned after its 2022 bridge exploit.
