Avanti Commences 42,000 Metre Drill Program at Misisi, Targeting Resource Expansion and Delineation of New Targets
Avanti Gold has begun a large-scale 42,000‑metre drilling campaign at its Misisi gold project in the DRC, aiming to expand and upgrade the Akyanga resource and test at least six high‑priority targets along the 55 km Kibara Gold Belt. Two diamond rigs are active with two more to be mobilized; the program is split into a Phase 1 (≈15,000 m, Apr–Jul 2026) and Phase 2 (≈27,000 m, Aug–Dec 2026). Akyanga currently holds an NI 43‑101 Inferred Resource of 40.8 Mt at 2.37 g/t (~3.11 Moz). Results will be released through 2026. Market impact: this is a material corporate exploration milestone that is bullish for Avanti’s valuation and prospectivity, and could support positive sentiment in small‑cap gold explorers; it is unlikely to move the broader gold market (XAUUSD) materially by itself.
