AT&T Just Expanded Its Use of D-Wave Quantum's Tech. Time to Buy This Leading Quantum-Computing Stock?

AT&T expanded its use of D-Wave Quantum’s annealing technology, moving beyond an initial test to broader applications in network optimization, outage detection, technician routing, network build planning and traffic management. AT&T said the technology reduced network optimization processing time to 15 seconds from one hour, and it will also evaluate D-Wave’s forthcoming gate-model systems for possible quantum security and communications use cases. The announcement is a positive validation of D-Wave’s practical utility and helped lift the stock. However, the article argues the investment case remains weak: D-Wave is still early in commercialization, reported just $2.9 million in Q1 sales, a net loss of $18.4 million, and faces a very high valuation with a price-to-sales ratio of 445. Analysts expect about $43 million in revenue for Q2, but the piece concludes the shares are still too speculative to buy now despite the partnership progress.
