ArcBest Pilot Pushes Tesla Semi Efficiency Past Musk Target

Tesla Semi is gaining commercial traction after entering high-volume production in April 2026. ArcBest’s 2025 pilot delivered 1.55 kWh per mile across nearly 4,500 miles, beating Elon Musk’s 1.7 kWh target and prior DHL and Saia results. Positive driver feedback and cost benchmarks have prompted ArcBest to purchase two units while WattEV committed to 370 trucks valued at roughly $100 million. Additional orders from port operators and extended trials by DHL and CEVA Logistics reinforce the Semi’s emerging niche role in electrified trucking.
