Apple Restores Card Payments for Apple Account Purchases in India

On July 6 2026 Apple began restoring card payments for Apple Account purchases in India after a four-year suspension. The phased rollout enables eligible users to add Visa and Mastercard debit or credit cards for iCloud+ Apple Music and App Store transactions reversing the May 2022 halt triggered by RBI recurring-payment rules. The change reduces friction for subscriptions and app spending as Apple’s India services revenue continues double-digit growth and may renew speculation about a future Apple Pay launch though no such plans have been announced.
