Apple Partners With LG to Co-Develop Smart Home Devices Ahead of Event

Apple is partnering with LG Electronics to co-develop a suite of smart home accessories, including smart locks, thermostats, video doorbells, and security cameras. The LG-branded devices will integrate into Apple's smart home ecosystem and feature Ultra-Wideband, Thread, and Matter support, with LG overseeing manufacturing and customer support while Apple directs design and software. The accessories will complement Apple's planned display-driven smart home hub, upgraded HomePod mini, and new Apple TV set for unveiling at its October 13 "Welcome Home" event. Apple shares gained 0.75% following the announcement.
