Apple Cuts iPhone 18 Pro Component Orders on Sluggish Demand, Nikkei Reports

Apple has instructed suppliers to cut October component orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max by 15% to 20% compared to initial forecasts, according to Nikkei Asia. The cutbacks follow weaker-than-anticipated consumer demand dampened by higher device prices, which were driven by rising memory and component costs. Apple shares slipped 0.72% to $337.97 in after-hours trading after closing up 1.11% at $340.42. The demand drop also follows a revised schedule that prioritized the September premium launch while delaying the base iPhone 18 and iPhone Air to early 2027.
