Apple Appoints Insider Steve Smith as New Mergers and Acquisitions Chief
Apple Inc. has appointed company insider Steve Smith as its new head of mergers and acquisitions, according to an internal corporate memo. Under the new reporting structure, Smith will report directly to Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh, returning the M&A team to the finance division for the first time since 2019. Smith succeeds Adrian Perica, who led Apple's corporate development and M&A for over 17 years and is transitioning full-time to the services division under Eddy Cue. Additionally, Apple is promoting Carson Oliver to vice president of the App Store. Apple shares gained approximately 1.4% following the announcement.
