Anthropic’s Claude Models Now Live in Microsoft Foundry on Azure GPUs

The story has progressed from Anthropic’s June 29 launch of Claude models on Microsoft Azure to Microsoft’s July 2 creation of Frontier Company. The new unit, backed by a $2.5 billion commitment and 6,000 embedded experts, helps enterprises deploy multi-model AI while retaining data ownership. Early partners include LSEG, Unilever, Land O’Lakes and Accenture. On July 5, Anthropic confirmed Claude is generally available inside Microsoft Foundry running on NVIDIA GB300 Blackwell GPUs, strengthening Azure’s position against AWS and Google. The combined developments mark Microsoft’s shift toward hands-on AI services and multi-model flexibility.
