Anthropic adds compute power with Google, Broadcom deals
Anthropic announced new agreements with Google and Broadcom to secure multiple gigawatts of TPU capacity beginning in 2027, expanding its compute footprint as enterprise demand for AI accelerates. The company doubled its business customers from 500 in February to over 1,000, and runs its Claude models across Google TPUs, Nvidia GPUs and AWS Trainium chips. The deals and Project Glasswing partnerships (including AWS, Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Cisco, CrowdStrike, JPMorgan Chase and Palo Alto Networks) underscore a shift toward AI infrastructure as an industrial supply chain. Market impact: these tie-ups strengthen hyperscalers and infrastructure/silicon vendors, favoring firms that can lock in chips, power and interconnectivity — a positive development for cloud and hardware suppliers but a potential source of vendor lock-in and capacity constraints for enterprises.
