Another public company has abandoned its Bitcoin treasury after selling the last 764 BTC

KULR Technology Group has completely unwound its corporate Bitcoin treasury strategy after selling its remaining 764 BTC between August 20 and September 11 for approximately $58.6 million in gross proceeds. According to an SEC regulatory filing, the transactions were executed through open-market sales to unrelated buyers at a weighted average price of roughly $76,633 per Bitcoin, leaving the company with zero BTC holdings. This final divestment completes a broader operational pivot away from digital assets and cryptocurrency mining. It follows an earlier disposal of approximately 333 BTC for $21.5 million, of which $20 million was deployed to repay principal debt owed to Coinbase. The company previously shuttered its Bitcoin mining operations to eliminate related liabilities and refocus resources. The complete exit illustrates the growing trend of non-crypto public firms re-evaluating digital asset balance-sheet strategies amid market volatility and shifting capital requirements. While the filing did not permanently bar future Bitcoin purchases, the proceeds provide KULR with immediate liquidity to fund and expand its primary battery technology and energy platform.
