AmericanFortress unveils first post-quantum fix for HD wallets that requires no chain migration
AmericanFortress published a patent‑pending post‑quantum signature scheme for hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallets that preserves standard public keys and requires no fund migration, chain switch or new infrastructure. The upgrade can be deployed via a soft fork and wallet/node software updates, protecting BIP32 addresses indefinitely and reducing the quantum‑threat risk to on‑chain funds. The scheme already covers BIP32‑Ed25519 chains (including Solana) with a secp256k1‑native Bitcoin construction in development. Performance currently: signing proofs <10s, verification ~18–19ms, signature size 218.4 KB, while full proof generation takes minutes (workarounds planned). Market impact: lowers operational and custodial migration costs, reduces a systemic security risk that could have pressured crypto assets (notably BTC), and should support longer‑term investor and infrastructure confidence without forcing disruptive asset moves.
