AMD Ventures Backs Turing as 5C Deal Positions It as Nvidia Rival

AMD extended its AI momentum on July 13 when Bloomberg reported AMD Ventures backing self-driving startup Turing, which now runs roughly 10% of its training workloads on AMD accelerators. The move follows the July 9 5C gigascale AI campuses announcement that lifted shares 8% to $553.50 and builds on earlier milestones including the 30 MW Rackspace deployment, £2 billion UK supercomputer commitments, Meta and OpenAI 6-gigawatt GPU deals, and the MEXT acquisition. Q1 data-center revenue surged 57% to $5.78 billion, underscoring AMD’s accelerating shift from challenger to contracted co-supplier in the AI infrastructure buildout.
