AMD stock gets a big boost from Microsoft ahead of AI event

Microsoft’s decision to deploy AMD’s Helios Rackscale solution “at scale” in Azure is a major validation event for AMD’s AI hardware roadmap and is giving the stock a strong boost ahead of AMD’s Advancing AI 2026 conference on July 22–23. The deal strengthens AMD’s position in AI inference, highlights broader hyperscaler adoption of its MI455X, Venice CPUs and Pensando DPUs, and may support accelerating revenue into 2027. Wall Street firms reiterated bullish targets, with some expecting additional customer wins, possibly including Anthropic. The announcement is also positive for Microsoft, as it diversifies Azure’s AI infrastructure and reduces single-vendor risk. Technically, traders are watching whether AMD can reclaim and hold above about $532, which could extend the rally.
