Amazon's Prime Video to invest at least 90 mln euros in 2026 in local production, regulator says
France's telecoms regulator ARCOM has ruled that Amazon Prime Video must invest at least €90 million in European French-language film and video production in 2026, up from a €40 million requirement set in 2021. The obligation would rise to €110 million if Prime Video releases any film fewer than 12 months after its theatrical premiere. Future required amounts will be tied to Prime Video's sales revenues. The move increases content spending obligations for Amazon to operate in France, raising compliance costs but ensuring continued market access for the streamer.
